wonderful thing for Monday: Again, watching God move in his majesty. Unbeknownst to us here in Prato, President Dibb (the mission president) and his wife were having a conversation Sunday morning about making some changes here in Prato, to take out two of the elders, to move the sisters from Pistoia to Prato, and to put the elders in Pistoia. At the same time, one of the sisters is getting some serious disturbance and needs to talk to the President, but she doesn't know exactly what to say, so she's delaying. Sunday evening, he calls her (doesn't happen) about something relatively minor, and so she takes the occasion to share her concerns. He says, funny you should mention that. We're moving you out of Pistoia (hence out of the difficulty - hopefully). The Lord takes care of his servants. When President talked to us about it yesterday, all I could think of was the sisters in that big apartment of the elders', so I suggested to him that perhaps the sisters could move into our apartment instead, and we would take the elders'. Upshot: a major move Wednesday, for everyone. We love our little apartment, but a bigger one, in the center of town, will facilitate our activities with the single adults. As my former hairdresser always said, "God's got this."
fun thing for Monday: visiting the Pascuzzos for dinner again. Major amazing meal: homemade sage tagliatelle with chestnut/pumpkin sauce (I KNOW!!!!), cheese-stuffed meatloaf, eggplant dish and bell pepper dish, both yummy; followed by the crowning presentation: tiramisu, made with orzo, a roasted barley substitute for coffee - a.maz.ing - after which, out came grapes, nuts, dried figs, and pears. A delicious groan! I took a collection of the scarves my mom made to give away, and let Sister Pascuzzo and her daughter choose one. They were sooo pleased. Apropos - anyone want to buy a house in Tuscany??? FOR REAL! Refer any interested buyers to me.
