Seek and ye shall find

Wonderful thing for Monday, Jan 12: "I am a dedicated finder." That is a statement you hear as a missionary. It means you look for people who are looking. Always, no matter where you are or what you're doing. I'm trying to be more courageous about that. It helps to remember that there is not a soul I encounter that is not, as am I, a son or daughter of the same Father, a Father who sent us here with a purpose. We each have our own road in fulfilling that purpose, but it's for sure He wants us th help each other in the process. The main challenge, for me at least, is to "despise the shame of the world", or in other words, not to be guided by the fear of feeling or looking like a fool. I am amazed at what a huge motivator that fear is. So, every day I work to despise that fear, to find a seeker, and to share something. The more times I do that, it's statistically certain that the search will bear fruit. Doctrine & Covenants 18:15-16. Fun thing: we have been a little under the weather, so except for a quick trip to the store, we stayed home yesterday, which meant that we missed district meeting. Around 1:00, our doorbell rang; it was the sisters and the elders, bringing Blaine a carton of one of his favorite gelatos! The sisters also brought a little plastic bag with a bug in it (bug-in-a-bag), so we could figure out what kind of an infestation they're dealing with. Earwigs, driven in by the cold weather. Lucky them! But not a big hazard, thank goodness.
