Future and Past

Wonderful thing for Thursday 29 January:  smart, savvy, humble, dynamic, dedicated young women. Had the occasion to skype with stake Young Women leaders.  They are both single, in their 20s, recently returned from missions.  They are solid in the scriptures, hard-working, lovely, committed.  Don't know how many other adjectives I could come up with, but one thing I can also tell you:  they are not a rarity; I've met many young women like them.  The future of the Church in Italy is in good hands - if the young men are equal to the task!

Fun thing - finally found some decently priced journals, and bought four.  If there's one thing I find frustrating, it's coming to the last page in a journal without having a replacement journal ready.  Had an interesting talk with the man at the stationary store (cartalaio) about how journaling is becoming one of those "lost art" issues, while there is a simultaneous loss of long term memory - as in, people are having a hard time remembering what they did a year ago...the idea being that there is a correlation between the act of writing and the power of memory it implants in the brain.
