Angels unawares

Wonderful thing for Monday, 5 Jan: Sometimes I feel like I'm repeating the same thing over and over, like Pinkie and Brain in the old cartoon; wonderful thing? -same thing as usual, Pinkie: these fabulous young missionaries. We had zone training yesterday, wherein Elders Taylor and Pinnock, as well as our own Sister Gunnerson, led discussions on the goals for the Europe Area for 2015, specifically how the ward council can be a strong tool in building the Kingdom and how missionaries can be a part of that; and on weeding out false traditions in our lives (and in the mission), and cultivating and strengthening true traditions. We role-played an effective ward council meeting - both Blaine and I said, if our ward councils could be like this, the work would really go forward. These young people are so wonderful; of course the Hydes and the Lees had a few good things to offer, as well. It's nice to be loved. Afterward, we fed a couple of sets of elders, ours plus Elder Taylor and Elder Erickson, who were on their way to Livorno, on splits (meaning, Elder Taylor leaves Elder Pinnock for a day, to work with Elder Erickson, while Elder Pinnock works for a day with Elder Warner, Elder Erickson's companion), and stopped so Elder Taylor could interview our young man for baptism. A privilege to have them in our home. Remember that, all ye who encounter LDS missionaries! It is a privilege to have them in your home. Fun thing: I got the names of parents/family members of lots of the missionaries in the zone, so that when I upload photos, I can tag them. That way they can see their missionaries in action.
