Strangers in Italy

Wonderful thing for 9 October:  Angela is a 17-year-old young woman from Albania, having lived here with family for three years.  Her cousins Nertil and Drina are already members of the Church, and recently she became interested.  This young woman is aptly named!  She loves all that is good, she tends naturally toward what is honest and true.  I don't know what her history is religiously, other than that Albania was an atheist country under communism until recently; but she personally has already exercised a great faith in Christ, having overcome a huge trial (don't know the details, only that she said that without faith and prayer, she'd have never made it through) a few years ago.  We sat in on the last discussion, temple work, before her baptism, which will take place tomorrow.  She was deeply touched by D&C 138, and is anxious to go to the temple to do the redeeming work for her ancestors, who never had the opportunity to know the Restored Gospel.

Fun thing:  We had to go to a few hours of "civic training" about life in Italy before receiving our permit to live here ("permesso di soggiorno"), an ID card we must carry with us.  Our GPS took us on a very circuitous route - necessary because so many roads are only one way - and we just barely made it on time, after parking and walking a couple hundred yards or so, because you're never guaranteed parking near your destination.  As we left and drove toward home, we realized that we'd have saved ourselves a good ten minutes if we'd have simply parked in Piazza San Marco, and walked a few yards!  We should always check a map before we go somewhere.  The training was a little bit interesting...
